hello! bonjour! pozdrav!

I am sonja

(like sonia) and I make communication easier through illustrations

“We have worked with Sonja on several projects. She has consistently demonstrated incredible creativity, no matter the task at hand. She has a talent for translating complex ideas into beautiful visuals, and she does so with great efficiency and understanding. Her creativity, combined with professionalism and technical knowledge, was exactly what we were looking for and what we found in Sonja. Deadlines are perfectly met. We wholeheartedly recommend her work and will not hesitate to turn to her for our future projects!”

WH0?

Based in Paris since 2012, I am a mapmaker, designer, illustrator and educator. I worked with renowned brands and organizations, including Hermes, Carlton, and the United Nations and my work appeared in magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Elle. I have been up the Eiffel tower over 800 times.

A person with long, reddish hair is writing with a yellow pencil with a purple eraser on a map or diagram on paper. The person is wearing a ring and two rings on their fingers, and a bracelet on their wrist with a thumb ring on their hand. The surface they are working on is a marble or granite countertop with a black border.

WHY?

Born in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, for the first 26 years of my life, I resided in four different countries, all while remaining rooted in the same street. The map of my world underwent rapid transformations, and this impermanence became a profound teacher, highlighting the potent role of communication. I learned to harness this power through my drawings, maps, diagrams, and, yes, language.

WHAT?

Today I try to facilite more genuine and effective communication between brands and people through illustrations, maps and design.

I am passionate about visual storytelling and I use it well to delight clients (yours and mine), show that we care and help people explain better their ideas and stories. I am here to narrate compelling and important tales through images.

A woman with blonde hair, glasses, and red lipstick is holding a map of Paris in front of her. She is standing outdoors between stone columns with hanging lamps above her, and is wearing a black and white striped shirt.

HOW?

I hold two Master Degrees in Architecture and Urban Design, which I earned through studies in France, Italy, and Serbia. As both an architect and artist, my perspective on the world differs. I don't perceive it merely as a panorama of buildings and landmarks, but rather as a collection of memories and sensations.

This is of a great help in helping you tell your story.
